Provision

Core offer

St Peter’s Centre is a medical PRU that provides education and wellbeing support to those students who are temporarily unable to attend their own mainstream settings.  This is due to a medical or mental health condition that is significant enough to warrant off-site provision.  This provision is suitable once all internal school strategies have been exhausted and something very different is required.

At KS3, Students typically spend up to two terms at our short stay school and the expectation is that they will return to school and that home schools will be fully committed to this transition process.   At KS4, we offer placements to Year 11 students for the full academic year to gain 5 GCSE’s in core subjects.

Our aim is to work alongside and support Surrey schools to enable their students to access suitable and flexible education appropriate to their needs and to reintegrate them to full time education as soon as their health allows.

In our school we work hard with young people to offer ambition, hope, normality, inspiration for the future and to inspire young people to manage their conditions beyond the placement with us.  Acceptance of a placement here requires young people to commit to full attendance and to be willing partners in the first steps of recovery.

Our specialism is working with children and young people with varied medical conditions, including mental health needs.  We support these students to return to learning and life and help them with strategies to manage the medical conditions beyond the placement with us.
