Careers Information

Careers Education is provided for all students in Y11.

Our Y11 Personal Development programme includes units of work on careers education and next steps. Students are introduced to a range of courses and options including college and apprenticeship routes.

Students are taken to visit local colleges and 6th form providers to see the range of courses on offer. 

Students learn about interview techniques and practice for these. 

Students make their own applications to colleges and employers.

At our half termly student review meetings we are always looking ahead and ensure that students have made necessary applications to colleges and employers to ensure they have a post 16 placement.

In addition to this many of our students are also able to access careers information and support from their mainstream school.

We evaluate the impact of our careers education as part of our school self evaluation process. We work with every student and family to ensure a post 16 provision is in place.
